It's time for Toyota to update the Sequoia. The current generation has been around since 2007 with few updates, and in those 15 years the competition from Ford, Chevy, and now Jeep has become much more interesting for buyers.
Well, meet the all-new Toyota Sequoia 2023 - the third generation of a full-size SUV from the Japanese.
Today the company showed us the next generation of the 2023 Sequoia three-row full-size SUV, based on the same body-on-frame platform as the 2022 Toyota Tundra and Land Cruiser, the new Sequoia enters the market with a bold new look, hybrids. and the new luxury Capstone trim level at the top of the model range.
The SUV's massive new design details are familiar from the recently released Tundra, from the overall shape of the grille to the T-shaped headlights with integrated air intakes.
Sequoia is available in both seven- and six-seat configurations, depending on whether the buyer chooses a full second row or captain's chairs. Toyota's announcement didn't provide details on passenger or cargo capacity, but it's safe to assume that the 2023 Sequoia's specs will be similar to the Toyota Land Cruiser 300. In Limited trims and up, those tailgates come with power and hands-free opening. Hidden in the trunk is a folding third row with an electric drive and adjustments, as well as a new controlled system of cargo shelves.

This setup involves placing the electric motor in the housing between the twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 and its 10-speed automatic transmission. Owners will be able to control the Sequoia's performance with Eco, Normal, Sport and Tow/Haul settings for the new drive mode selection system, adjusting the behavior of the electric motor. Comfort and Sport Plus suspension settings will be available when equipped with rear air suspension with self-leveling and adaptive adjustable suspension. You can also opt for the optional Tow Tech package, which includes the automaker's Trailer Backup Guide and Straight Path Assist features, making life easier for those who frequently haul trailers and trailers in their pickup truck.
The 2022 Sequoia's cabin is primarily distinguished by a massive instrument panel, equipped with a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel and a 14-inch display of the multimedia system, which is standard on the Limited and above or is an additional option for the standard 8-inch screen of the SR5 model.

At the top of the line is the new equipment Capstone, which Toyota calls the most luxurious Sequoia to date. It has a nearly complete option package and is equipped with plenty of chrome accents, standard 22-inch wheels, power footpegs, a more luxurious interior with semi-aniline leather trim with a black and white theme, and open-pore American walnut trim. Even the glass in the Capstone model is unique - acoustic panels in the front doors reduce road and wind noise.
SR5 models can be upgraded withTRD Sport package, replacing the 18-inch with 20-inch TRD matte black wheels and Bilstein monotube shocks withspringsTRD. Aluminum pedals and a red TRD start button give the cabin a somewhat sporty look.

A package is available for SR5 and Limited 4x4 models to enhance off-road performanceTRD Off-Road. Its setup adds a locking rear differential, 18-inch alloy wheels, more expensive Bilstein/TRD shocks and springs, and a red front axle propshaft. Multi-Terrain Select, Crawl Control, Downhill Assist Control also become available and increase control and stability on the track, while Multi-Terrain Monitor helps drivers navigate off-road precisely. But the most adventure-oriented offering is the SequoiaTRD Pro, which is not just a package, but a whole level of interior decoration. Pro equippedreinforced Fox shock absorberswith TRD tuning, aluminumcrankcase protectionTRD and unique 18-inch black TRD light-alloy wheels with extended reach.
The TRD Pro also comes standard withroof rack, a traditional Toyota grille with side lights and an integrated LED strip, and, like the off-road kit, is equippedrear locking differentialand various Toyota Trail Control and Assist systems.
New Toyota Sequoia 2022will go on sale this summer. Pricing hasn't been announced yet, but it's likely to be the most expensive Sequoia, especially the premium Capstone version.
