After months of spy photos, leaks and rumors, Toyota has officially confirmed that the new Hilux generation will be shown on November 10 in Thailand. And, it seems, we waited not in vain. The video teaser that appeared on the pages of Toyota Thailand finally gives an opportunity to appreciate the appearance of the new pickup.
Yes, the new Hilux has tightened its shape and seems ready to fight again for the title of the most popular pickup truck in the world.
Toyota Hilux 2026: new design — old character
The front of the Hilux now looks even more aggressive: narrow LED headlights, a relief hood. On the side, there is a familiar profile of a double cab with powerful fenders, and at the back, there are new "sharp" lights with LED graphics and a small spoiler on the trunk lid.
And of course, a huge TOYOTA logo on the grille so everyone knows who's boss. In the teaser, the pick-up sits on black twin-spoke alloy wheels - looking defiant, as befits a real Hilux.
Inside - more comfort, less "utility car"
The interior has not yet been officially shown, but a leaked photo of the Hilux dashboard is already "walking" on the Internet. Inside, a digital trim, a large multimedia "tablet" and a new, more "SUV-like" panel are expected. Finishing materials also promise to be upgraded - now the pickup will be a little less of a "workhorse" and more of a comfortable partner for long trips.
Under the hood is a familiar diesel with a mild hybrid
Hilux remains true to its roots. The basis will be the updated IMV frame platform, not the fashionable TNGA-F, as in Tacoma or Land Cruiser. However, technically, the pickup will become more modern — an updated chassis, improved electronics and an expanded set of driver assistants.
Under the hood will remain the proven 2.8-liter turbodiesel with a mild hybrid — 204 hp. and 500 N·m of torque. The drive is rear or all-wheel drive, the gearbox is automatic.
Some engines (2.4 diesel and 2.7 gasoline) will retire, and a little later Toyota is preparing hybrid and even fully electric versions of the Hilux.
The competition is not sleeping
The new Toyota Hilux enters the market, where Ford Ranger, VW Amarok, Isuzu D-Max, Mazda BT-50, Mitsubishi Triton, Nissan Navara and even Kia Tasman are already waiting for it. And if anyone doubts - Toyota has every chance to impose the fight for the first place again.
