The new Ram 1500 Revolution Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) not only gives us a clear view of the Ram Dare Forward 2030 strategic plan for the future, but also demonstrates how one of the leading pickup brands intends to change the segment. (Incidentally, General Motors full-size pickups topped the 2022 list of leaders when Dodge, Chevrolet and GMC sales were combined.) The futuristic Ram 1500 Revolution BEV Concept showcases the innovative technologies that Dodge will offer in future models, including electric Ram models.
According to Mike Kowal Jr., CEO of the Ram brand:
"The Ram 1500 Revolution BEV Concept is our clear signal that we're on the cusp of something extraordinary at Ram, and points directly to where we're headed on our electrified journey. We at Ram have already redefined what pickup trucks can be, and we're going to do it again by pushing past what the competition has to offer and introducing the best electric pickup truck on the market."
Dodge Ram's exterior design team approached the design of the BEV with the intention of revolutionizing the pickup truck segment with a cutting-edge concept that "radiates power, is purposeful and environmentally responsible."

The Revolution BEV concept features an exterior design that Ram describes as "brutal" - brutal but beautiful. Many people liked it and it resembles somethingTesla Cybertruck- another electric pickup concept that has not yet been put into production. A modern "RAM" logo adorns its streamlined front with a fully animatedLED optics, while maintaining a connection with the current generation Dodge Ram 1500.

The doors open in the style of a Rolls Royce, providing access to a large space for passengers without an annoying rack in the middle. Bright LED headlights are integrated into the front bumper, while animated LED taillights and badging highlight the rear. The trunk opens with a simple push of a button. The port for recharging from the power grid is located near the driver's door. You can also select hidden door handles, side stepswith an electric drive and a rear step with an active diffuser - all this completes the list of automated functions.

But the qualities that will make this car suitable for off-road and travel are more important than chips and fancy options. Ram 1500 Revolution BEV Concept can show offadvanced steeringwith 15 degrees of articulation, which will provide both greater maneuverability on narrow off-road tracks and increased controllability on high-speed tracks. The design of the body allows to place24-inch wheels with 35-inch tires. The adjustable air suspension has three modes: entry/exit, aerodynamic and off-road, and the concept is equipped with a self-leveling function. The Ram Concept features all-wheel drive and is powered by two Electric Drive Modules (EDMs) located in the front and rear of the chassis.

In terms of power and range, Ram claims the Revolution can increase range by up to100 miles (160 km) in about 10 minuteswith the help of fast charging from an 800-volt direct current network with a capacity of up to 350 kW. The new inductive charger (Ram Charger) will make charging at home as simple as possible. It automatically detects the presence of an electric pickup and its charging needs and moves under the car to charge the battery units built into the car frame. All this gives the predictedrange of 500 miles (800 km)and up to 10,000 lb-ft of torque, although final figures for range and power are not yet known.

How about the interior of the Dodge Ram 2023 Revolution BEV?

The spacious interior and body, combined with the size of the battery, allow for more cargo.Rail mounting system and floor rails Ram provides interior flexibility for the console and seats, as well as ties for additional storage.

The concept also offers one continuous front-to-back space known as the "a single space", which allows you to create several different interior configurations.

Of all the smart features promised, "Shadow mode" has to be the most interesting in our opinion, as it allows the Revolution to automatically follow the driver while he is walking in front of the vehicle. This voice-activated feature can be useful in situations where the driver needs to move a short distance and does not want to return to the pickup. The car will stay at a safe distance, using sensors and cameras to avoid obstacles.

According to forecasts,Revolution will appearearlier than expected, probably inin 2024, and then electrified options will be available across the entire Ram lineup.
