New Toyota Hilux 2026 officially presented: diesel, hybrid and electric version

Toyota has officially introduced the new generation Hilux — now without camouflage and assumptions. The premiere took place on November 10, 2025 in Thailand, where the Japanese manufacturer showed three versions of the pickup at once: a classic diesel, a mild hybrid and a fully electric Hilux BEV.

The novelty was the ninth generation of the legendary SUV and combined the company's reliability with modern technologies and design in the Land Cruiser style.

Hilux of the ninth generation: a new design and three types of power plants

The updated Toyota Hilux has retained its traditional character, but looks much more modern. The front part received narrow LED headlights, a wide radiator grill with a large TOYOTA inscription and a relief hood. The rear lights are now vertical, and a small spoiler has appeared at the top of the trunk lid.

Inside - a new level of comfort. The pickup received a digital instrument panel, a 12.3-inch multimedia display, modern finishing materials and a set of Toyota Safety Sense security systems. Now Hilux has become closer to premium class SUVs without losing utility.

Under the hood is a proven 2.8-liter turbodiesel with 204 hp. with the mild hybrid system, which produces up to 500 N·m of torque. For some markets, the 2.7-liter gasoline engine will remain, and the main novelty is the electric Hilux BEV: two motors, four-wheel drive and a battery with a capacity of 59.2 kWh, which provides a range of up to 300 km.

The new Hilux became part of Toyota's "multi-pathway" strategy, which combines diesel, hybrid and electric technologies. The pickup remained a frame, with classic reliability, but now even more technological and environmentally friendly.
