The commercial vehicle division (VWN) of the auto concern will introduce a completely new generation of the Amarok pickup truck in 2022, which will be able to gain even greater popularity on the world market. The car was developed and conceived in Germany and Australia, and built in South Africa. The first camouflaged models of the second generation Amarok are already on the roads of Europe and are being actively tested in various conditions.

The new Amarok 2022 brother is already on the marketFord Ranger. These pickups share a platform and technology. Despite the camouflage, you can already see how the dimensions of the pickup from the Germans have changed: with a length of 5350 mm, the next generation has grown by at least 100 mm. The wheelbase of 3270 mm has increased by 175 mm - this change will definitely increase the space in the cabin.

In addition, the payload has increased to 1.2 tonnes and a maximum load capacity of 3.5 tonnes is now possible with more engine and transmission options. Since the wheelbase of the Amarok 2022 model has increased compared to the overall length, the overhangs of the body have been reduced. This had a positive effect on the car's off-road performance. The off-road capabilities of the new Amarok have also been improved due to the significantly increased depth of the ford for driving through reservoirs compared to its predecessor.

Depending on the engine/transmission variant and country, there will be one petrol engine and up to four different diesels with four or six cylinders and a displacement between 2.0 and 3.0 litres. Also, versions will be optionally available with rear-wheel drive or permanent four-wheel drive. INFord Ranger Raptor, for example, a diesel V6 produces 250 hp, which will allow you to achieve good dynamics for a pickup truck. And more than 30 auxiliary systems, of which more than 20 are completely new on board Amarok, will provide additional safety according to modern standards.
According to VWN, the appearance of the pickup truck will be "powerful and charismatic." "In the new generation, we have significantly changed the design of the Amarok. Now it has become more expressive and even better," said Albert Kirzinger, chief designer of Volkswagen's commercial division.

The new pickup looks more attractive and modern. Despite the camouflage, you can see the features of the hood, bumpers and upper bars of the radiator grille with neatly integrated narrowLED headlights, which are included in the standard equipment of all versions.
The silhouette stands outwheel arches, connecting the new model with its predecessor. Unlike many other pickups, the upper part of the wheel arches on the Amarok forms an almost straight line, rather than a semicircle - a typical feature of a VW pickup. The wide body is framed by standard rear LED lights, and the inscription "Amarok" is pushed out across the width of the rear board (as in the 2022 Ford Ranger model). As with its predecessor, the new Amarok offers enough space for a cross-loading Euro-tray, which can be secured there with strong lug straps.

Inside, there will be a new-for-the-model tablet infotainment display, an exclusive audio system, as well as dashboard and door panel surfaces with elegant leather upholstery and bright decorative stitching, designed to create a more premium atmosphere.

Drivers and passengers in the new Amarok will spend time on the road on comfortable wide seats, which can be adjusted with 10-way electric adjustment if desired. There is enough space in the back for three adult passengers.
For the second generation of the pickup, there will be five levels of interior trim: starting with the base version "Amarok", which will be followed by "Life" and "Style". Volkswagen will offer the "PanAmericana" and "Aventura" as top versions for some markets.

To date, more than 830,000 Amarok pickups have been sold in Europe, South America, South Africa and Oceania. The new Volkswagen Amarok will hit the market at the end of 2022 in the first countries with a double cab and four doors (DoubleCab) and in selected markets with a two-door single cab (SingleCab).
