The two automotive giants plan to jointly develop and use autonomous driving technologies, as well as automotive platforms for future electric cars and commercial vehicles. And one of the first joint models was the 5th generation Ranger and the not yet announced Amarok of 2022. The German manufacturer claims thatthe next Amarok will be something biggerthan the Ranger facelift. Despite the close cooperation in the development of a single platform, Volkswagen engineers guarantee that their modelwill fully correspond to the concept of DNA, according to which some of the company's novelties were redesigned.
Despite the same silhouette as the Ranger,Amarok 2022 will have a different front and rear. Alsothe interior will be redoneto adapt Volkswagen's vision. Experts believe thatit was the Germans who were able to influence Ford's decision to use the 3.0-liter turbodiesel V6 Power Stroke, since buyers of the current Amarok often prefer the version with a turbodiesel V6. By the way, it produces 258 liters. and 580 Nm of torque. In addition to the V-six, Amarok will be available with a two-liter four-cylinder turbo engine and a biturbo diesel of the same volume, producing 213 kW and 500 Nm. In addition to power units, the new pickup from Volkswagen should getpermanent four-wheel drive, available now as an option for the Ranger.
