At the Caravan Salon 2023 in Düsseldorf, Volkswagen showed more than just the T7 California travel van. One of the impressive new products was the Amarok Camper pickup, which was upgraded thanks to the ideas of Genesis Import GmbH from Schwarzach.
The camper is based on an updated Ford Ranger T6 platform with a raised suspension and BFGoodrich AT all-terrain tires. The pickup, made by Ford in South Africa, is equipped with a tent on the roofKunga, as well as an awning with a rotation angle of 270°. The original wheels were replaced with Delta, they are more suitable for off-road trips. And additional optics, located in front and on the roof, provide bright lighting during extreme journeys.
The developers also took care of comfort and technology inside the car. Electric front seats, a leather interior, a large 12-inch touch screen - all this is about the new Amarok of the second generation. The company's convenient modular system is located in the cornerAlu-Cab.
The three-liter turbodiesel V6 under the hood reaches a power of 238 horsepower and a torque of 600 Newton meters. The 4Motion all-wheel drive gets that power through a ten-speed automatic transmission.
The German automaker itself has defined the second-generation Volkswagen Amarok Camper as a "premium-class pickup truck," especially in an extended configuration.
