Toyota Fortuner is the simplest and most affordable frame SUV, which has not been updated since 2015. After 5 years (the current year is 2020), the long-awaited update has finally taken place in Thailand. The model received changes in appearance and a modernized diesel engine. The front bumper with built-in LED horizontal lines of turn signals, optics and radiator grille, equipped with a completely new pattern, have changed. They did not forget about the rear bumper: the running lights were made of diodes, and 46-centimeter wheels with a different design were also installed.
There are fewer incarnations in the cabin - a modified multimedia system with an 8-inch touch screen (in the previous version, the diagonal is 7 inches) and support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is installed. The scale of the instruments and the graphics of the display on the console have also changed.
There were also changes in the engine compartment - a 1GD-FTV diesel engine appeared, with a volume of 2.8 liters and a capacity of 204 horsepower. The turning moment was 500 Nm, which is 27 hp. and 50 Nm more than before. The only thing left untouched in the updated Fortuner is the standard six-speed gearbox and four-wheel drive.
In the Taiwanese and Australian markets, the updated Toyota Fortuner 2020 will go on sale in August this year. The potential dates for the appearance of transformed SUVs on the European market are still unknown.
