The new Nissan Patrol of the seventh generation officially debuted in Abu Dhabi. The car will replace the model on the assembly lineY62, which has been produced since 2010 and has undergone two restylings during this time.
Fans of the Nissan brand finally got a modern SUV that can compete seriouslyToyota Land Cruiser 300.

Technical characteristics of Nissan Patrol Y63
The car is built on a completely new platform. Thanks to this, the engineers managed to increase the rigidity of the body by 25%, which is important for good handling and stability. The wheelbase remained the same as the sixth generation — 3075 mm. But the dimensions of the body have increased a little. The Y63 is 35mm longer and 35mm wider.
The Patrol's off-road capabilities are still at a high level, as befits this model. It is equipped with all-wheel drive with a reduction gear. The locking of the rear differential in this generation has become electronic.

The suspension is now pneumatic adaptive even in the basic configuration. It has 6 modes for different types of surfaces and can change the ground clearance in the range of 190-244 mm. In turn, the power steering remained hydraulic. It transmits vibrations from the road to the steering wheel more strongly than electric systems, but at the same time it is more comfortable off-road.
Design
The appearance of the Patrol Y63 fully corresponds to the latest trends in automotive design. The exterior of the SUV has become more futuristic, brutal with a predominance of clumsy lines. At the same time, they clearly tried to make the new Nissan Patrol more premium, closely approaching its more expensive sibling, the Infiniti QX80.

Interior
The interior of the new product has become more spacious, has a lot of high-quality leather, piano lacquer decoration and two 14.3-inch touchscreens for the dashboard and multimedia system. The driver can also project information onto the windshield.

The audio system is new, consists of 12 speakers. Rear passengers can install their own monitors. In addition to electric drives, the front seats can also have heating, ventilation and massage. A seven- and eight-seater version of the SUV will be available to buyers.

Power plants
Unfortunately for fans of big motors, the new Patrol got rid of the condo 5.6-liter V8. At the start of Y63 sales, two gasoline diesel engines are promised under the hood:
- 3.5-liter V6 with two turbines with a capacity of 425 hp. and 700 N∙m of torque.
- 3.8-liter atmospheric V6 with a capacity of 316 hp. and 386 N∙m of torque.
The first option is significantly superior to the old V8 in terms of its characteristics. At the same time, engineers promise that it is 25% more economical than its predecessor. For its part, the naturally aspirated V6 version has a more modest look and will not be available in all markets. The engines will be paired with a new 9-speed automatic transmission.

Start of sales
Nissan is making a big bet on the Middle Eastern market, as the Patrol model has been hugely popular there for many years. Actually, for this reason and the place of presentation of the new product, the capital of the UAE was chosen. Another priority market for them remains the USA. There, Nissan's full-size SUVs are sold under the name Armada.
Exact prices for the novelty have not yet been announced, but their growth is expected compared to its predecessor. According to approximate estimates, Nissan Patrol 7th generation will cost from 65 to 105 thousand dollars, depending on the configuration.
