For the past six years, the Toyota Highlander has been one of the most popular mid-size crossovers on all continents, which is not easy in such a competitive market niche. To maintain interest in the updated 2023 Highlander model, Toyota decided to review the line of units and introduced many details to improve the comfort of owners.

The new Highlander ditched the 2GR-FKS 3.5-liter V6 that offered 295 horsepower in favor of the new2.4-liter T24S enginewith a turbocharger producing 265 hp. and 430 Nm (instead of 357 Nm in the V6). The sportier XSE, Limited and Platinum models get upgraded settingsall-wheel drive with torque vectoring, selecting the driving mode and disabling the transmission, which can unlock the rear wheels for driving in front-wheel drive mode for greater fuel economy. Hybrid installation for 243 hp. for the 2023 Toyota Highlander has been carried over to this model year from the current generation. This version of the crossover can also be equipped with an all-wheel drive system.
