The long-awaited opening of the season for off-road enthusiasts finally took place in the village of Voronovitsa. The event gathered like-minded people who came to test their strength, test the equipment after the winter break and simply get real emotions from quality off-road. The organization of the event was supported by Yaroslav (co-organizer of the event), ensuring a clear coordination process for all crews.
The main feature of such meetings is, of course, the variety and preparation of cars. The participants did not just come to spin the steering wheel, but presented seriously modernized SUVs.

Technical training and real experience of the participants
Off-road terrain in Voronovytsia requires maximum efficiency from the equipment. Many of the drivers have carried out a capital lift of the car in advance to increase the clearance and improve the geometric passability on difficult terrains.
Oleg's car (a custom GAZ-69) was one of the vivid examples of the engineering approach, which radically approached the issue of reliability and installed a Toyota engine and gearbox under the hood of his SUV. Such a "swap" allows you to get a solid reserve of power and torque, which is critically important in conditions of long climbs or deep mud.
Another race participant, Anatoly in a black Opel, shared his training experience. His car was prepared for the start for two weeks at an accelerated pace: the engine was completely overhauled, the cylinder head, steering rack and turbine were serviced. There were also small nuances that often emerge directly during the race - the car lost some of its dynamics due to a clogged intercooler, but Anatoly noted that the most important thing for him is the participation itself, team spirit and emotions that this sport gives.

The equipment you can't do without on the off-road
The analysis of cars on the site showed that experienced jeepers do not skimp on safety and carefully equip their cars. A reliable one was installed on most cars, including the car of co-organizer Yaroslav winch, which is the main savior in cases when the wheels completely lose traction with the ground.
In general, in order to feel confident on such terrain, the cars of the participants were equipped with the following equipment:
- Off-road pendant. Special reinforced shock absorbers and springs that withstand hard impacts and allow you to keep the trajectory at speed.
- Muddy tires for off-road. Almost all crews took care of quality tires with an aggressive tread (Mud-Terrain), which effectively cleans mud and provides traction.
- Additional optics. LED beams and LED lights installed on the roof and bumpers (as on Anatolia's car) are necessary for confident driving at dusk or in conditions of limited visibility.
- Rigging sets. In the trunks of every car, dynamic and bark-protecting slings, strong forms and a rail jack (hi-jack) were necessarily present for quick lifting of the car in field conditions.

The race in Voronovytsia was a great start to the off-road season. Ahead of the participants there are still many difficult tracks, but the technicians and crews passed the first test successfully. Follow the announcements and prepare your cars correctly!
