On June 17, the new BT-50 pickup from the Mazda company officially debuted. The car was built on the platform of the converted Isuzu D-Max and presented during a live broadcast in Thailand.

The most important changes befell the engine part of the pickup truck. Now the car is equipped with a modernized three-liter diesel with a capacity of 190 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque. The engine works productively with both manual and automatic transmissions. In addition, an expansion of the engine range and the appearance of rear and all-wheel drive modifications are expected soon.

The dimensions of the BT-50 almost coincide with the dimensions of the D-Max platform and are:
- length - 528 cm;
- width - 187 cm;
- height - 179 centimeters, with wheelbase parameters of 312.5 cm.
However, there is still one striking difference - the individual design of the front part of the pickup, which was designed in the style of the Mazda CX-5 and CX-9 crossovers.

As for the interior, the placement of the central tunnel and console, multimedia system with a 9-inch screen, adaptive cruise control and dashboard, the new Mazda borrowed from its famous donor - Isuzu D-Max.

For now, the Japanese automaker is keeping the key technical parameters of the transformed pickup a secret - body load and fuel consumption (their announcement is planned closer to the start of sales).

Sales of the new Mazda BT-50 will begin in the Australian market in the second half of this year. The car will be manufactured at the same Thai plant as its donor. It is not yet known when the pickup truck will appear in Europe.
