
The automobile giant General Motors presented a new product at the exhibitionCES-2022, which takes place in Las Vegas. The Chevrolet Silverado EV electric pickup will compete with the Ford F-150 Lightning. As it turned out, Silverado is a redesigned GMC Hummer EV and will be produced at the automaker's newest plant near Detroit.
Based on this, it is worth understanding that he will not get anything from the gasoline model except for the design. The frame will be replaced by a frame with subframes and an integrated battery pack, and the suspension is now fully independent, although it can be purchased at an additional costequipped with air suspension. With it, the clearance can be changed up to 100 mm in the range.

The interior of the Silverado EV is radically different. The 11-inch fully digital instrument panel and 17-inch media system draw most of the driver's and passengers' attention.

Also available14-inch projection screen, which allows not to be distracted from driving. More options are availablepanoramic roofandautopilot level 3 Super Cruise, capable of independently driving a pickup truck on highways (without keeping hands on the steering wheel).

There will be two configurations at the start:
- Basic Work Truck
- Premium RST
In both versions will be usedtwo-motor system producing 517 hp. (834 Nm) and 673 hp. (1057 Nm) respectively. Acceleration up to 96 km/h is declared at the level4.5 secondsfor the RST version. Soon after the launch, the company plans to expand the list of available modifications and plans to release an off-road-ready Trail Boss Silverado EV.

Electricity will be stored in the vanguardUltium traction batteries- a proprietary development of General Motors. The capacity is not disclosed at the moment, but it is known that the range on 1 charge will bemore than 400 miles (644 km). It is also not specified under which test cycle these data are provided.

Production of electric pickups Silverado EV will take place at the newest plantFactory Zeroalong with the single-platform Hummer EV. Orders for the electric Silverado are now open, but only for pre-orders with a token deposit of $100. It will be possible to place a full order no earlier than 2023. The price of basic models will start from39900 dollars.
