During the presentation in Brazil, Renault showed the world a new concept car called Niagara. It turned out to be a compact pickup hybrid with a bold design and four-wheel drive.
According to the representative of the company, the concept embodies the style and ideas that will form the basis of the new line of Renault cars for the international market.

Renault Niagara Concept design
Renault characterizes the design of the concept as a combination of brutality and modernity, emotions and technologies. These are the associations they want to evoke in customers.
The traditional diamond-shaped brand emblem is missing from the front grille. Its place is occupied by a large illuminated Renault inscription in the style of pixel art. And narrow diode headlights give the car an aggressive look.

Niagara has a high hood, wide wings and a short rear overhang, due to which the car looks collected and sporty. The profile of the pickup truck is squat and fast. The image is complemented by a roof rack with a full-sized "spare".
The pickup truck has a double cabin. However, the salon was not shown at the event. The length of the vehicle is 4.9 m, and the wheelbase reaches 2.95 m. The body is load-bearing.

The concept is built on the new CMF-B modular platform from Renault. It is distinguished by great flexibility of setting and allows the manufacturer to easily change the length, body type and transmission of the car. The company plans to use it as the basis for many of its new models.
Renault Niagara Specifications
Technical characteristics of the future pickup have not yet been revealed. It is known to have an internal combustion engine at the front and an electric motor at the rear axle. In normal mode, Niagara will move only in front-wheel drive with the help of a diesel engine.

If necessary, the driver will be able to activate the electric motor, making the pickup four-wheel drive. Or turn off the internal combustion engine, turning Niagara into a rear-wheel drive electric car.
There is currently no detailed information about the battery. Company representatives claim that it will be enough for half of daily trips.
The future of the model

The demonstration of the pre-production version of Renault Niagara is scheduled for the first half of 2024. Probably, it will have a slightly more restrained design and color. But the main highlights of the concept promise to be preserved.
Based on the pickup, the company will create a whole family of eight new models intended for sale outside of Europe. They should fully debut on the market by 2027.
