A year has passed since the presentation of this model, and the company decided to refresh the interest of buyers by presenting three concepts of the model. Fans of vintage pickups will immediately recognize the influence of two of the three Nissan Frontier concepts at this year's Chicago Auto Show. RedProject Hardbodyand gray conceptProject 72Xinspired by pickup models, helped the Japanese brand establish itself in North America in the 1970s and 1980s.
First, perhaps the most famous of the concepts. Its custom wheel design is clearly inspired by the Desert Runner model of the old Hardbody pickup truck. Nissan also outfitted the concept with a unique gloss black grille, custom 4x4 graphics, and a full-size, body-mounted spare.

And fans of the brand will find out thatThe Project 72X is inspired by the Datsun 720 pickup truckthe end of the 1970s. This concept features a gray body color and custom vintage-style side graphics. The Project 72X wheels are actually repurposed spare wheels from a regular 2022 Frontier pickup, just painted white.

If you don't like the look of "old school" pickup trucks, Nissan also showed off a conceptProject Adventure, which is based on the styling of the 2022 PRO-4X Frontier and wears more aggressiveoff-road tires, made to orderbody arcfrom carbon and manycamping accessories, includingcar tent, designed to showcase Frontier's travel capabilities.

In addition to the custom bodywork and snorkel, the Project Adventure has upgrades that are currently available either through tuning or through the brand's catalog. All threepresented hereconcepts have lifted suspension: The 72X is raised 2.5 inches, the Hardbody 3 inches, and the Adventure 5 inches over the standard Frontier.
It's unlikely that any of these three concepts will make it into series production as a special edition or limited edition of the new Frontier. But given that most modifications can be done in the aftermarket, consider these concepts as inspiration for tuning your perfect pickup.
