New German pickups
Mercedes-Benz X-Class

If you are looking for a stylish pickup truck, then the Mercedes-Benz X-Class is your choice. Branded design and chic interior - this is the pickup that tells everyone else - things are going great.
Unfortunately, under all this hides a car that is identicalNissan Navara, and it doesn't take much effort to figure out where the Mercedes ends. Inside, you'll get air vents and a steering wheel from a Mercedes passenger car, as well as plenty of switches and plastics that used to be used inNissan Qashqai. At the same time, the seats have Mercedes comfort, and inside the X-Class there is enough space for a comfortable ride for four adults.
The best choice for everyday use would be the 163bhp 2.0-litre Nissan diesel, which Mercedes calls the X220d, although the 258bhp V6 in the X 350d is very attractive and will offer more drive. All in all, if you are willing to overpay for the Mercedes design, then this pickup truck is worth the money and you can find and buy it in Ukraine.
Volkswagen Atlas Tanoak

The Atlas Tanoak pickup truck can provide plenty of room for five passengers, and its long wheelbase puts it in the same class as cars like the Honda Ridgeline. Overall, the Atlas Tanoak uses the same MQB platform as other Volkswagen models, albeit with a wider chassis.
One of the interesting features of the Volkswagen Tanoak is the retractable roof rail, which makes it easier to transport long objects. Simply extend the rail from its position opposite the cab and use it to carry long items on the roof. The Volkswagen Atlas Tanoak pickup truck body is ideal for drivers looking for a way to transport recreational vehicles such as ATVs or motorcycles, or for those doing light work such as gardening. The Volkswagen Atlas Tanoak will have plenty of power, with a 3.6-liter VR6 engine producing 276 horsepower and 360 Nm of torque.
So far, this pickup has not gone on sale, but Volkswagen intends to release a new product in the coming years. Sales markets are currently undisclosed.
New French pickups
Renault Duster Oroch

The Renault Oroch is a medium-sized 4-door pickup truck from Renault, designed primarily for the South American market, but was also sold in some African and Eastern European countries. It has four doors, space for five passengers, a load capacity of 680 kg and 683 liters of usable space in the body.
Oroch was created on the basis of a popular budget SUVDacia Duster, but it received an increased wheelbase of 155 mm and a total length of 4.70 m.
Renault Duster Oroch was offered with several configurations (3) and 2 engines to choose from - 1.6 or 2 liters. Both are gasoline powered and very reliable. The first pick-up from Renault received only rear-wheel drive and two gearboxes - six-speed manual or four-speed automatic gearboxes. As for the suspension, it is lighter compared to the Duster. Brakes in a drum circle, which emphasizes the budget of the pickup truck.
Railings on the roof are available in the base, but can be installed for an additional feekangaroo cagewithadditional optics, rear window protection andwheel arch extenders. The interior is completely identical and unified with the Duster.
Peugeot Landtrek

The Landtrek is the first pickup since the beloved 504 Pickup of the late 1990s, an important model for the French manufacturer. This may explain why they resorted to the help of the Chinese company Changan Automobile.
This means that the Landtrekbased on the Keicene F70and will most likely have the same engine line-up, starting with a low-powered 1.9-liter diesel unit that meets euro 6 standards. A more powerful 2.4-liter diesel can be ordered, but it is not available in all markets.
Among the features, it is possible to note a good towing weight of 3500 kg and a fording depth of 600 mm. In addition, the Keicene F70 was chosen as the basis for a Peugeot pickup for a reason. PSA Group runs its units developed together with Chinese specialists from Changan on it. Such a decision will make it possible to get rid of many problems for European buyers, since their pickup will be thoroughly checked and free of most problems. It can already be bought on European markets and found on Ukrainian roads.
Renault Alaskan

Alaskan is the second pickup from Renault, but this time it is aimed at the European and American markets. The all-wheel drive pickup truck is offered with 3 configurations and a 2.3-liter diesel engine. It is paired with a 6-speed manual transmission or a 7-speed automatic transmission. The four-door cabin offers 5 full seats. This model, like the Mercedes pickup, is built on the Nissan NP300 Navara platform. The comfort of the suspension is provided by an independent multi-link suspension with an anti-roll bar. The braking system consists of front disc and rear drum brakes.
The base Alaskan is equipped with fog lights and LED brake lights. In the cabin there is a 7-inch multimedia screen with Bluetooth. 7 airbags ensure safety. Among the equipment there is also climate control, heated front seats, keyless entry and assistants during ascent and descent from slopes.
New Italian pickups
Fiat Fullback

This is another European brand that took over the base from its Japanese counterpart. Fiat Fullback is built on the baseMitsubishi L200. The Italians did not spoil the characteristics of the L200, only slightly changing the design and releasing a version with a double cabin. As a result, the length of the body became shorter by 24 cm.
Under the hood of the Fullback, there may be several modifications of 2.4-liter turbodiesels with different degrees of forcing. Either a 5-speed automatic transmission or a 6-speed manual gearbox works with them.
Fullback received all-wheel drive and a system with 4 operating modes (with the option to turn off all-wheel drive). The central differential is provided by a high-speed clutch, which quickly connects the rear axle when the front wheels slip.
In addition, the pickup has ABS systems, stability control, 2 frontal airbags and fabric seats. Richer versions can have leather seats, a towable trailer stabilization system and a multimedia system with a screen.
Fiat Toro

A more compact solution from Fiat - Toro. This pickup truck is based on the Jeep Renegade and is a small but economical car with thin optics and a sloping shape, which makes it visually larger.
The Fiat Toro is powered by a 1.8-liter EtorQ Flex gasoline engine that can also run on methanol. As an alternative, a modern 2-liter turbodiesel with the MultiJet system is available. The gasoline Toro can only be front-wheel drive, while the diesel version can get an all-wheel drive system for an extra fee. A 6-speed automatic or manual transmission works with the engine, and the top versions are equipped with a 9-speed automatic transmission.
Several configurations are available to the buyer, including a more advanced multimedia system, dual-zone climate control, a panoramic roof, hill start assist, parktronics, etc. The pickup truck is available in the markets of America and Europe.
New Korean pickups
Ssang Yong Musso

If in the world of cars the SsangYong brand can be intimidating, in the world of hard-working pickups it's a compelling argument - especially when it comes at an attractive price and with a great warranty. SsangYong pickups, in particular the Musso model, have earned the title of "reliable worker" and are in demand in the markets of Europe and Great Britain.
In the list of modifications of the latest generation, preference should be given to the model with an automatic transmission, as it increases the economy of the 2.2-liter engine with a capacity of 181 hp, as compared to the manual version. In addition, the automatic transmission makes it possible to tow 3.5, not 3.2 tons. The engine is responsive and quite reliable, and four-wheel drive is included as standard equipment. It is worth noting the reliable suspension, which will move confidently even on Ukrainian roads.
Inside, the Musso seems less utilitarian than some of its rivals, and since it's based on a bulky SUVRexton, you will also get a lot of space. In fact, the Musso is one of the best 5-seat pickups for the money.
Hyundai Santa Cruz

The Korean Santa Cruz also combines an SUVTucson(it was built on its basis), and a full-fledged pickup truck. The range of engines starts with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder gasoline unit, but more expensive configurations are equipped with a powerful turbo four, which provides good dynamics for this pickup. You can choose to buy both an all-wheel drive version and a front-wheel drive version.
The Santa Cruz has a towing capacity of 2,300 kg and a payload capacity of 640 kg, which is pretty good for a small pickup truck. The salon is unified with the Tucson, which is good, because the SUV is distinguished by a comfortable and practical interior. Among the features, it is worth highlighting the security systems. FCW and AEB with pedestrian and cyclist detection are standard. BSW and RCTW are optional. Although the main market of the Hyundai Santa Cruz is American, these pickups can be found in Ukraine as well, and both used and new at "gray" dealers.
New Japanese pickups
Mazda BT-50

Compared to its Ford-based predecessor, the new BT-50 is lower, wider and more neatly arranged. The hood and fenders flow gracefully from Mazda's familiar combination of headlights and grille into the swept-back roofline. In the side profile, there is no subtle play of light and shadow (utsuroi) like other Mazdas, in this respect the pickup truck is almost identicalIsuzu D-Max, on the basis of which the BT-50 is built.
Those who need a family-oriented pickup should pay attention to a more comfortable and expensive 4x4, which is equipped with all the necessary safety systems. But for those looking for value, the 4x2 MT is one of the brand's cheapest big-engine pickups. Yes, you can get its Isuzu twin for a bit less, but it doesn't come with LED headlights or Mazda's five-year maintenance-free warranty. By the way, Mazda is popular not only in Asia, but also in Europe. Unfortunately, the BT-50 pickup is not available in Ukraine.
Toyota Land Cruiser 79 Pickup

Part of the Land Cruiser 70 series, the Cruiser 79 is one of four body styles available in the series. The Land Cruiser 79 has two cab chassis options: a two-seater farm and work pick-up and a five-seater double cab. As well as other siblings with70th series, the 79 is great off-road, but can get a little tiresome on the road, especially on single-lane roads, as it's slow to accelerate and overtaking requires some patience.
All 79 Series Landcruisers are powered by a reliable 4.5 liter V8 turbodiesel engine. It has plenty of low-end torque for excellent performance in hauling heavy loads, towing and off-roading.
Land Cruiser 79 has excellent power to cope with the most difficult conditions. Consider the cargo area of this utility vehicle, 1525mm long and 1600mm wide with a load capacity of 900kg to 1000kg. This is a truly utilitarian pickup that can take you anywhere and bring you back. These pickups are still being produced. In Australia, you can buy a 2022 Toyota Land Cruiser 79, and it is still relevant there. In Europe and Ukraine, you can find ads for the sale of these pickups and get one of them for your own use.

JAC T8

The T8's interior is also a step up from its T6 sibling. It received an updated dashboard with modernized decoration and a large touch screen of the multimedia system.
Under the hood of the JAC T8 pickup truck is a 2.0-liter engine with a capacity of 136 hp. and 320 Nm of torque, which meets the Euro IV standard. Foton Tunland

This 4x4 double cab pickup was released to the Australian market in 2019 and for $35,000 it's a nice 4x4 pickup, albeit a Captain build.
The Tunland is equipped with a 2.8L DIESEL TURBO 4 engine with a power of 130 kW and a torque of 365 Nm with a six-speed automatic transmission. FOTON claims the Tunland consumes 8.9L/100km on the combined cycle. It has a fuel tank with a volume of 76 liters, which means that it will be able to travel 854 km on a full tank, but, according to customer reviews, this figure is actually 10-20% less.
Tunland dimensions are 1860mm high, 5310mm long, 1880mm wide with a 3105mm wheelbase and 2000kg weight. The Tunland 2023 has a ground clearance of 210 mm and a towing capacity of 3000 kg with brakes and 750 kg without brakes.
Tunland received 3-star safety from ANCAP and is found in some European markets, Spain in particular.
Maxus T70

The T70 model is a fairly old (by the standards of the speed of appearance of Chinese cars) large pickup truck with an expressive radiator grill, an interesting interior and a comfortable design. The T70 is the "original" from which the previous generation MG Extender was made. The owners noted its reliability, practicality and cheapness in maintenance.
As for the power plant, the Maxus T70 pickup truck is equipped with a 2.0-liter turbodiesel that meets the "China 6" emission standard. There are two modifications of this motor: a single-turbine one with 161 hp. and 375 Nm and two-turbine, with a capacity of 214 hp. and 480 Nm. The gearbox in both versions is a seven-speed automatic, which transmits torque to the all-wheel drive chassis.
Great Wall Wingle 7

Wingle 7 is a medium-sized pickup truck aimed at family men and hard workers who need a reliable vehicle capable of carrying a lot of cargo comfortably and without breakdowns. And as sales show, Wingle 7 succeeds. It is suitable both for daily driving and for transporting a fairly large amount of cargo.
In fact, the Wingle 7 pickup is a separate car with a design developed by Great Wall engineers, but it is worth noting that its frame is very similar to the Isuzu D-Max of the first generation.
The power unit is available with a choice of 2.4 gasoline engine or 2-liter diesel, which is included in the "top 10 Chinese engines" and produces 105 kW / 315 Nm of torque. Power is sent through a 6-speed manual transmission to the base all-wheel drive system. The Great Wall Wingle 7 pickup can be bought in Ukraine and some countries of the European Union.
Great Wall Poer

Poer is a cheap medium-sized pickup truck designed to replace the Wingle 7. It combines all the same characteristics: an affordable price, good reliability and a roomy body. But the new product is also advantageously distinguished by its excellent design, sophisticated interior, good equipment and a good 150 hp diesel engine. and 400 Nm of torque.
It became the first car of the brand built on the new P71 platform. It is distinguished by a frame structure and spring suspension "in a circle". The pickup truck arrived in Europe and Ukraine in 2021 and is in demand due to its cheap price and pleasant appearance.

Dongfeng Rich 6

Rich 6 is a pickup truck developed by Zhengzhou-Nissan based onNissan Navara. It is positioned as a cheaper alternative to the Nissan Navara, differing in its appearance. In fact, Rich 6 is positioned between the new Rich pickup and Navara with dimensions of 5290x1850x1810mm and a wheelbase of 3150mm. The shape of the side of the car is mostly preserved with the "original". Rich 6 is equipped with 255/70 R16 tires, and front disc brakes, rear drum brakes. The ESP function is available on all models above the standard configuration. The length, width and height of the truck body are 1510×1562×475 mm.
The central control panel is made in two-tone, but the interior design is relatively neutral and does not draw attention to itself. The materials on the center console are made of rigid plastic materials, which is limited by the cost.
There are two engines to choose from: a 2.4-liter gasoline engine and a 2.5-liter diesel engine. The first engine has a maximum power of 158 hp. and a torque of 230 Nm. A 5MT gearbox is used as a transmission. The 2.5T diesel engine develops a maximum power of 140 hp. and 305 Nm. A 5MT and 6AT gearbox from ZF is used as a transmission. The all-wheel drive system is from BorgWarner, but it does not have a rear axle differential lock, which will affect its off-road capability. The suspension design is a conventional two-lever type in front, a spring in the back, and the elastic element is 5-leaf springs of variable section.
The price of Dongfeng Rich 6 in the Chinese market is between 12,000 and 20,000 USD. A batch of such pickups recently appeared on the territory of Ukraine.
New British pickups
Land Rover Defender Pickup

Two- or four-door modifications of the Defender pickup truck are based on the basis of a "short" or "long" SUV. They were first shown back in 1983, and at once with all three variants of the wheelbase that received indexes:"90", "110" and "130". In 2007, the British modernized the already well-worn power unit, replacing it with a more modern one and slightly changing the appearance of the car. After that, in 2012, the Land Rover Defender Pickup got another engine and a different interior.
Externally, the Defender pickup in cargo modification differs from the SUV only in the presence of sides. The length of Land Rover Defender 90 Pickup is 3658 mm, width - 1791 mm, height - 2032 mm. The "110" modifications have a length of 4578 mm, the width and height are identical to the "younger", and the "130" version is 604 mm longer than the "110th" Defender Pickup. For almost 40 years of its existence, this pickup has managed to be sold on all continents, both for civilian purposes and for the military. Although it is not officially sold in Ukraine, there are several interesting options on the used car market.
Tuning Land Rover Defender Pickup
Ineos Grenadier

The British company Ineos has decided that the world needs a tough and reliable 4×4 pickup truck that will fill the void left by the old Land Rover Defender. And it is not important that Land Rover has just released a completely new Defender, on the basis of which a pickup may well appear in the future. But behind the clumsy and cubic design of the Grenadier hides a lot of modern developments, including engines from BMW.
However, the main thing is that Ineos has already shown images of the pickup version - which is more than can be said about Land Rover. Orders for the commercial version are open, but there is no exact date when the pickup will appear, although the manufacturer says that it will definitely be.
MG Extender

The latest generation MG Extender is based on a pickup truckMaxus T90and is sold with both left-hand and right-hand drive, which made it possible to actively sell it in the Australian and other right-hand drive markets. The MG Extender is powered by a 2.0-litre turbodiesel four-cylinder engine producing 119kW and 375Nm and is offered with either a six-speed manual or automatic with low-range all-wheel drive.
The MG gets stability control, lane departure warning, hill start and descent control, and a tire pressure monitoring system, but it lacks adaptive cruise control, lane departure assist, and automatic high beam and autonomous emergency braking, which, by the way, are on the Chinese pickup Maxus to fully compete with bestsellers like the Amarok or Ranger.
In the cabin, passengers get a 10-inch infotainment system with support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 360-degree cameras, as well as basic voice control for phone calls via Bluetooth, satellite navigation, audio system and climate control.
New American pickups for Europe
Jeep Gladiator

After a long hiatus, Jeep returned to the pickup segment with the release ofGladiator- a new medium-sized pickup truck of the American brand. It combines the strength of a Wrangler with the practicality of a pickup truck. Like its SUV counterpart, the Gladiator has a body-on-frame and spring-loaded suspension on both axles. Two options are offered: the entry level "Sport" and the more advanced "Rubicon". As inWrangler, the roof and doors can be removed from the Gladiator, which is a unique feature for a pickup truck.
Under the hood of the Gladiator pickup truck is the familiar Jeep 3.6-liter Pentastar gasoline V6 with a capacity of 285 hp. and 352 Nm of torque. This engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. All-wheel drive is installed on all versions of the pickup truck. These pickups are very common in the native American market and are found on the roads of Eastern Europe, Ukraine in particular.
