Mazda showed a new BT-50 pickup of 2025

At the official presentation in Australia, Mazda presented the new BT-50 design. The car underwent restyling and received an appearance in the style of the CX-5 crossover. The market release of the updated frame pickup is planned for 2025.

Appearance

Designers redesigned the exterior to be more in line with Mazda's current corporate style. From the front, the changed radiator grille and updated LED headlights immediately catch the eye. The bumpers have also changed slightly, the body doors have received a slightly different stamping, the rear optics have become more modern, retaining their former shape.

Interior

The salon also received its dose of rejuvenation. Here, everything is in the spirit of the times — monitors are getting bigger, multimedia is more functional. A 9-inch touchscreen is installed on the central console, and a 7-inch display acts as a dashboard. BT-50 now supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, which has already become the gold standard in the industry.

Equipment

In the most equipped version of the pickup truck, such useful functions as keyless entry, dual-zone climate control, adaptive cruise control, rear view camera, heated seats will be available. To increase safety, for the first time in BT-50, a system of semi-automatic movement in traffic jams and a sign recognition system will appear.

The facelift definitely cannot be called radical, the new design is an evolution of the previous one. However, these small changes successfully "refresh" the pickup and bring it closer to other Mazda vehicles. At the same time, according to the technical part of the pickupMazda BT-50has little in common with its brothers in the brand. Because it is built on the Isuzu D-Max platform and is produced with it at the same plant in Thailand.

Technical characteristics

The new power units will be inherited from the pre-restyling version. Buyers will have a choice of two four-cylinder in-line turbocharged diesels — 1.9 liters and 150 hp, as well as 3.0 liters and 190 hp. As a transmission, "mechanics" and "automatic" are offered, both gearboxes have 6 gears.

For off-road, versions with four-wheel drive, a reduction gear and a locked differential are available. At the same time, the car can transport up to 1065 kg of cargo in the body.
