- four 60 W bulbs + the required power reserve of 10% = 264 W
- a refrigerator with a capacity of 400 W + the necessary reserve of 200% = 1200 W
- TV with a power of 300 W + necessary margin of 50% = 450 W
- microwave oven 700 W + necessary reserve 50% = 1050 W
*we add the necessary reserve, because during startup, the devices consume much more energy.
In total, we have 264+1200+450+1050=2964 W. Thus, you need a generator with a power of 3 kW or more.
Step 3. Note all the details
If an electric boiler is installed in your house, then energy consumption increases significantly.
It is also worth considering that the repair process requires larger amounts of power. So if you are using construction tools, such as a circular saw or a hand mixer, the rated power of the generator should be 1-2 kW higher.
