This year, the Dakar rally was remembered for spectacular accidents and races. The teams gave their all this season, showing an excellent battle. And so Dakar-2023 has come to an end. The results were unexpected for many, and the absence of some strong teams allowed others to stand higher than everyone else on the podium.
Dakar 2023 rally results: the most important
SUVs

Qatari pilotNasser Al-Attiya became a five-time winner of the Dakar rally this year. He was able to win thanks to his discreet and precise tactics.
Nasser Al-Attiyah, driving for Toyota Gazoo Racing, finished 11th in the final 136km stretch between Al Hofuf and Dammam on 15 January. He finished first overall with a time of 45 hours, 3 minutes, 15 seconds.
Thanks to a new victory, Nasser Al-Attiya became the second in the ranking of pilots with the most victories in "Dakar"in the SUV category. The record holder Stefan Petransel is only three wins ahead of him.
This year, many experts bet the Bahrain Raid Xtreme crew to win, but the team could only finish in second place.
RacerCarlos Sainzwithdrew from the course after three stages due to a crash while tackling a dune. By then he was already out of the race due to a mechanical failure on the 2nd day of the competition.
Bahrain Raid Xtreme Pilot -Sebastian Loebwas unable to challenge for overall victory in the rally after suffering numerous punctures and damage in the early stages of the competition. In the off-road category, he came second.
Two more Toyota Gazoo Racing factory pilots entered the top five and this became one of the best results of the Japanese car manufacturer. Jiniel de Villiers and Hank Lategan finished fourth and fifth.

Motorcycles

Kevin Benavides - a pilot from the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing team, became the first in the final stage of Dakar 2023 and won the overall victory in the moto standings. His main rival was his teammate Toby Price. The Australian finished the race 55 seconds later.
The pilots of the Honda teams could not enter the top three this year. The best of them was Pablo Quintanilla in the Monster Energy Honda Team, who finished fourth in the moto standings.

ATVs

In this category, another victory was won by Alexander Giroux from the Yamaha team, setting a time of 56 hours 44 minutes 30 seconds. Argentinian Francisco Moreno Flores and American Pablo Copetti will share the podium with the winner, showing a time of +43.11 and +1:52.55, respectively.

Trucks

Boss Machinery Team De Rooy Iveco with driver Janus van Casteren won the overall truck category. His time was 54 hours 3 minutes 33 seconds. Martin Macyk from the MM Technology team finished second overall. He was behind the winner by 1 hour and 12 minutes.
The third result in the category was achieved by Mitchell van den Brink of the Eurol Team De Rooy Iveco with a time of 56 hours 43 minutes 55 seconds.
