Dacia presented one of the most radical prototypes the automotive industry has ever seen. The company took the idea "less means more" and significantly developed it.
So, neither doors nor windows - who needs them? Instead of a roof, there is a trunk, because that is enough. Who needs two headlights when one is enough? Air tires? This is already the last century, no need!
In the process of removing unnecessary parts, in Dacia's opinion, the company has created the perfect off-road buggy. An absolute gem of an adventure vehicle that can go almost anywhere thanks to its non-existent overhangs and huge airless tires.
Therefore,what do you get, if most things are missing? You have two seats with matching seat belts and a hidden chip. It's probably the smartest thing that's ever been on an SUV - real or prototype. The seat covers can be easily removed and used as sleeping bags. Ingenious.
You get a place for your phone, which then controls all the navigation and infotainment. you getsmart, removable, giant battery, which can power your campsite and all the electrical devices you manage to take with you on the trip.
The only headlight on the car is removable, so you can use it to light a hiking trail or whatever else you need to illuminate in the middle of the night. There is a smart bottle holder that doubles as a hanger for all kinds of things and has its own name - YouClip.
The car is a set of experiments with new materials. For example, several of the Manifesto's body panels are 20 percent recycled plastic. The fabric on the seats is a new technological material that is easy to clean, stronger than current fabrics and will soon replace them in serial Dacia cars.
Roof rackThe Manifesto is a small upgrade to the existing multi-purpose roof racks available for the Sandero, Jogger or Stepway. The side panels are foldable and prevent the transported object from moving, and also serve as attachment points. When they are not needed - everything folds up like an IKEA wardrobe.
To make the Manifesto the perfect off-road tool, Dacia has equipped itwinch. The rear part of the car folds out and turns into a table or workbench. The whole car is obviously lighter and noticeably more efficient than any electric car on the market. But unfortunately, the company does not intend to produce Manifesto even in limited edition. But,the materials and solutions used in it will end up in serial cars.
For example, a composite of recycled plastic will be used in the next generation Duster. Stronger fabrics will replace those currently in use, and a roof rack will be an option on many models. It's a bit of a shame that we won't be able to buy the Manifesto, but still - kudos to Dacia for continuing to experiment.
