During recent discussions aboutNissanin North America, there has been talk of phasing out the full-size Titan and Titan XD models after 2024.
That would leave the company with the third-generation D41 Nissan Frontier as its primary offering in North America, as it faces competition from new midsize pickups including the Ford Ranger (with a Ranger Raptor variant), the latest Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon models, and the formidable Toyota Tacoma.
Will Nissan ditch it to focus on the Toyota Tundra, Ram trucks, Chevy Silverado, GMC Sierra and Ford F-Series?
Of course, this is just a wish, because the Nissan Navara primarily serves as the equivalent of a medium-sized car for global markets.
However, a virtual automotive artist named Dimas Ramadhan, known for his Digimods DESIGN YouTube channel, has created a CGI rendering of a larger-than-life Nissan Navara Nismo Pro-4X full-size pickup truck. The inspiration for this creation, it seems, was a combination of the body of the Nissan Titan, the styling of the Patrol and Pathfinder SUVs, as well as the signature Nismo crimson color.

While the idea of a Nissan replacing the Titan may seem far-fetched, this rendering shows a formidable full-size pickup capable of scaling dunes and rocks at various speeds. It could find its place in the sandy deserts of the Middle East and Latin America, and maybe even compete with the likes of the Ram 1500 TRX and the Ford F-150 Raptor R.
However, it will be difficult for Nissan to find a suitable powerplant that can compete with the V8 engines of potential American competitors. Still, if Nissan were to consider the concept, equipping the Navara Nismo with the 600 horsepower VR38DETT 3.8-liter twin-turbo engine from the 2024 GT-R Nismo could be a viable option.
