The automotive world is buzzing with anticipation for the release of the new 2026 Jeep Compass, which is scheduled to premiere in 2025. This is not just another update, but a total reboot of the model, boldly challenging the class leader, the Toyota RAV4. One of the key decisions that changed everything was the transition to the new STLA Medium global platform. This chassis, already used in the Peugeot 3008, not only allowed production to be moved to Italy to optimize costs, but also paved the way for full electrification. This step demonstrates Jeep's ambition to create a versatile vehicle for the world's most demanding markets.
Power for every taste: from hybrids to 650 km on electricity
The new Compass's engine lineup is impressive in its variety:
- Mild-Hybrid: An economical option for the city.
- Plug-In Hybrid (4xe): A 195 hp all-wheel-drive version combining an internal combustion engine and electric motors.
- Fully electric versions: A real breakthrough! Buyers will be offered two options: a base model with 213 hp and a range of 500 km, and a flagship twin-motor model with 375 hp, capable of traveling up to 650 km on a single charge.
Brutal style and unrivaled interior
The Compass's exterior has become significantly more aggressive and brutal. Its “square” design, clean lines, and muscular shapes bring it closer to its older brothers, such as the Grand Cherokee.
But the main surprise is inside. The interior has been given that “unusual equipment”:
- Special seat fabric treated with polyurethane, which makes it extremely resistant to dirt and damage and easy to clean.
- Protective covers on the rear seat backs to prevent scratches from cargo.
- Rubber mats and increased storage space.
All this is complemented by a large 16-inch multimedia screen and a digital instrument panel.
The new Jeep Compass is a bold claim to leadership. It combines fuel efficiency, incredible power, cutting-edge technology, and signature off-road capability, wrapped in a practical and stylish package. With such a set of advantages, it is ready not just to compete, but to knock the Toyota RAV4 off its pedestal. Sales in Europe will begin at the end of 2025.
