The seventh stage of the World Rally Championship, Rally Acropolis 2025, has come to an end in Greece, marking a turning point in the season. First place went to 2019 WRC world champion Ott Tänak from Estonia in a Hyundai i20 N Rally1. He secured Hyundai Motorsport's first victory of the year, ending a series of setbacks and strengthening his position in the title race.
Ott Tänak from Hyundai — the main contender for the title?

Second place went to Britain's Elfyn Evans, representing Toyota Gazoo Racing at the wheel of a Toyota GR Yaris Rally1. He did not show the pace of a winner, but his tactic of consistent finishes without serious mistakes is paying off. He retained the championship lead at the halfway point of the season, although he himself admits that he will have to speed up to defend his title. On the fast stages of Estonia and Finland, the road clearing situation will become less critical, but his rivals are already breathing down his neck.

Ott Tänak is in excellent form and only 12 points behind Evans, despite gearbox problems at the end of the Greek rally. If the updated Hyundai i20 N Rally1 proves itself on fast gravel tracks, the Estonian could become the championship favorite.
Toyota's second driver, Finnish rallyist Kalle Rovanpera, has shown a decline after successful performances in Portugal and Sardinia. In turn, Belgian Thierry Neuville from the Hyundai team has again lost points to Evans, although he finished ahead of the Finn. For Thierry, the 54-point gap is already critical — there is little time left to rectify the situation.
Guillaume Munster of Ford was confidently heading for a place in the top 6, skillfully controlling the pace and taking advantage of his rivals' mistakes. But a sudden breakdown of the fuel system of his Ford Puma Rally1 deprived the driver of a well-deserved result.

His teammate, Frenchman Adrien Fourmaux, damaged his suspension after a successful start, but instead of taking the usual risk, he slowed down and finished the race on the podium. This confirmed his progress and work on psychological resilience.
In the junior category, Sweden's Oliver Solberg once again demonstrated his absolute superiority, leading from the first to the last special stage and claiming his third victory of the season. The consistency and speed of world champion Petter Solberg's son are already sparking talk of his readiness to move up to the Rally1 class.
