In Jeep Wrangler JK vehicles from 2006 onwards, the effect of resonant vibrations of the front wheels (known as the "Shimmy effect") occurs over time. It is associated with uncomfortable sensations for the driver, as when driving in harsh off-road areas, the steering wheel begins to pop out of a fairly firm grip. When the car is also equipped with wheels with an increased diameter on negative overhang rims, this is likely to be compounded by a "kickback" in the steering wheel when the wheel collides with even a small stone.
