The updated Toyota Land Cruiser 300 will become a hybrid

So far, the new Toyota Land Cruiser 300 has debuted exclusively in Middle East markets, but there are plans to expand it to other parts of the world. This is expected to be part of Toyota's global strategy to electrify the model range, which includes expanding the hybrid lineup even among heavy and full-size vehicles.

Land Cruiser 300 update

The presented novelty has become the most productive version of the model at the current moment - the powertrain generates 457 hp with a torque of 790 Nm. The heart of the car is a 3.5-liter gasoline V6 with twin turbocharger, supported by an electric motor. The transmission part is represented by a 10-range automatic gearbox coupled with an all-wheel drive system. Such a powertrain provides not only power, but also improved acceleration dynamics.

Although detailed technical specifications have not yet been announced, Toyota Australia representatives have confirmed that the hybrid version will demonstrate better towing performance compared to the diesel variant. However, there is a certain compromise - the fuel tank in the hybrid LC 300 has a volume of 68 liters, while the gasoline version is equipped with an 80-liter tank. The reduction in volume is due to the need to accommodate the hybrid battery, but, according to the engineers' assurances, the overall range will remain competitive.

Exterior and interior differences

Externally, the new model can be identified by a modernized front bumper with modified air ducts and the HEV emblem on the rear door. Updated hybrid variants will also receive special designations of ecological modification and black accents on the center and side parts of the bumper. In addition, new body color options are available for certain packages, which emphasizes the status and modernity of the car.

Interior changes include updated digital dashboard graphics borrowed from other Toyota hybrid models. The interior will be adorned with wood elements on the steering wheel and center console, plus new seat upholstery materials. The volume of the cargo area the company does not specify yet, but notes the appearance of an electrical outlet. Thanks to the built-in inverter, the novelty is aimed at active travelers who need convenient power for equipment in the field.

The traction battery is replenished through a regeneration system when decelerating - there is no external charging port typical of plug-in hybrids. This makes the new modification less dependent on charging station infrastructure and retains the classic “fill and go” concept.

Markets and prices

The model has launched in the Middle East markets with an expected geographical expansion of sales. In the United Arab Emirates, the Land Cruiser Hybrid is already taking orders - the base VXR version is priced at around $106200, while the sporty GR-Sport is priced from $111600. The prices reflect not only the new technologies, but also the premium level of equipment, aimed at demanding buyers.

It is also confirmed to enter the Australian market in the first half of 2026, with further planned expansion to other parts of the world. Analysts predict high interest in the hybrid model in North America, where demand for large SUVs is decreasing in favor of more efficient and environmentally friendly solutions.

Packages and special features

The priority markets for the realization of the modernized “300” will be the Persian Gulf states, where it will be presented in two configurations - VXR and GR-S. Batteries for the electric-gasoline unit have a sealed housing, which guarantees safe overcoming of water obstacles off-road. This is especially important in desert or wet climate zones where extreme operating conditions are common.

Additionally, the updated Land Cruiser 300 will receive an integrated 1500W (220V) AC inverter for connecting household appliances and travel equipment. This feature turns the vehicle not only into a means of transportation, but also into a full-fledged mobile power station, ready for any adventure.
