The long-awaited event has finally happened: the legendary Isuzu D-Max pickup truck is now available in a fully electric EV version. In 2025, the Japanese manufacturer, known for its indestructible off-road vehicles, officially launched the new model on the European market. The concept, first shown in Bangkok, has made its way to the production model, was recently unveiled in Birmingham, and is now ready for new challenges.

Power plant and technical characteristics
At the heart of this electric beast is a twin-motor power plant that provides all-wheel drive. The front electric motor has a power output of 40 kW (54 hp), while the rear motor has 90 kW (122 hp). The total output of the system is 130 kW (177 hp) and 325 Nm of torque. Power is provided by a 66.9 kWh lithium-ion battery, which gives the pickup a top speed of over 130 km/h.
Load capacity and towing
The market launch dispelled the main doubts of the brand's fans: the electric D-Max EV proved that it remains a real “workhorse.” The manufacturer did not compromise, retaining the key advantages of its diesel predecessor, the current version of which can be found in our catalog. Thanks to its reinforced frame, the new model is capable of towing a trailer weighing up to 3.5 tons and carrying up to 1 ton of cargo, confirming that the transition to electric power did not require any sacrifices in terms of practicality.

Market launch plans and alternatives
The market launch will be phased. Isuzu's UK office has already announced the price list and confirmed that orders will begin to be accepted before the end of 2025. However, the first vehicles will not reach dealers in the UK until February 2026. The launch in other key markets will take place later. It is worth noting that Isuzu is also developing a “mild hybrid” version of the pickup truck for more conservative buyers.

Thus, the Isuzu D-Max EV becomes one of the first electric pickups in its class to retain a full range of cargo and off-road capabilities. This is a bold step that demonstrates the brand's readiness to meet the challenges of the future without compromising its key principles of reliability and durability.
